POSTAL CODE: N/A

Every profile this generator hands out is assembled the way a Hongkong Post letter gets read: flat and floor first, then building, street number and street, district, and finally one of the three regions: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon or New Territories. There is no postal code line, because the territory genuinely doesn't use one. Each card pairs the address with a Hong Kong-style name, an +852 phone number in the 8-digit format OFCA's numbering plan specifies, and an email. Hit Generate for a fresh set, or save the ones worth keeping.

Three regions, eighteen districts

Hong Kong's districts aren't administrative trivia — they're the middle lines of every real address. The Home Affairs Department groups the territory's eighteen districts under three regions, and that's the exact hierarchy our generator draws from:

Hong Kong Island

Central and Western, Wan Chai, Eastern, Southern. The generator's street pools sit here: Des Voeux Road Central, Queen's Road Central, Hennessy Road, Lockhart Road and the rest of the core business grid.

Kowloon

Yau Tsim Mong, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong. Samples pull from Nathan Road, Canton Road, Fa Yuen Street, Apliu Street and Kwun Tong's industrial-era grid.

New Territories

Tsuen Wan, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Sai Kung, Tai Po, North, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun and Islands — the largest region by land and the newest additions to our street pools.

Every generated card shows its region, so you can tell a Central address from a Mong Kok one at a glance — and check our pools against the official district list yourself.

How a Hong Kong address is laid out

Hong Kong addresses run from small to large, comma by comma. A complete mailing address follows this order — unit/floor, building, street number and street, district, then region and territory:

Flat B, 12/F, Wing On Centreunit / floor / building
123 Nathan Roadstreet number + street
Tsim Sha Tsuidistrict
Kowloon, Hong Kongregion + territory

Two habits trip people up. First, the building line: Hong Kong addresses commonly carry a building or estate name before the street line, which is unusual for Western formats. Second, there's no postal code to place anywhere — see below if a form insists on one.

Unsure whether a real address follows the standard? Hongkong Post runs an official Mailing Address Format Finder that returns the standardized format for any local address. Our output sticks to the same line order, so samples double as format references.

Chinese and English addresses, side by side

Chinese addresses are written largest to smallest; English addresses run smallest to largest, separated by commas. Same building, two directions. The general rule — 由大到小,一氣呵成 — inverts for English, which is why translating a Hong Kong address line-by-line in place produces something a foreign clerk will misread.

District names come from the official English district list, so what you copy matches what government and courier forms expect.

Why Hong Kong has no postal codes

Hong Kong has no official postal code system. Hongkong Post considers the existing address system sufficiently efficient and has not introduced one — freight guides from FreightAmigo to Fuuffy repeat the same official position, and 2026 shipping documentation still lists the postal code field as optional for HK destinations.

So where does 999077 come from? The code floating around online was assigned by China Post for cross-border mail routing. It has never been used inside Hong Kong. Some China–Hong Kong forwarders and a few European or American carriers may ask for it; a local recipient will never need it.

ScenarioWhat to enter
Local HK mail (Hongkong Post)Leave the field blank
Web form won't submit empty000000 or 0000
Cross-border parcel via China Post / forwarders999077, if the forwarder requests one
International courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS)Leave blank — street, building and district do the work

The district name is what actually routes mail here. That's why our generator treats the district as a required field and the postal code as none.

Use cases for test addresses

  • Form and app testing — populate signup flows, checkout forms and databases with Hong Kong profiles that pass field validation, including the no-postal-code edge case.

  • Address translation reference — compare a Chinese-script address against its English layout before filling a visa, bank or shipping form.

  • Teaching and demos — show students or clients how Hong Kong's three-region structure appears in real address lines.

What these samples are — and aren't

Built for: software testing, format reference, teaching, placeholder data.

Not for: real correspondence, identity verification, or registering for services against their terms. Generated profiles are synthetic; a correct format is not proof an address or person exists. For actual mail, confirm the address with the recipient or Hongkong Post's official tools.

How the samples are built: names, streets and phone formats come from our own Hong Kong data pools, checked against the Home Affairs Department's official district list and OFCA's published numbering plan. Data pools last reviewed September 2026.
